I used to think every time I saw a green smoothie that it looked disgusting. Seriously, who wants to suck back a liquefied salad first thing in their morning, when they might already be battling the urge to crawl back into bed?
I have been playing around with a few recipes for green smoothies and have found some combinations I truly look forward to each day.
A green smoothie adds a little bit more fibre, vegetables and greens to your day. This smoothie is a great nutritious way to start your morning. Here is my new favourite
Makes about 700 ml with my handful
1 handful frozen mango
1 handful frozen or fresh ripe banana
1.5 handful chopped kale
1 half avocado
1-2 table-spoon ground flax-seed
2 T natural peanut or almond butter
Top with coconut almond milk blend
Add desired protein powder or greens blend and vitamins for enhanced goodness
